Finished Forecast (or: how I learned to stop worrying and love the sweater)

Wow. I just finished writing a long and involved post about how I really wanted to blog but all these factors such as intermittent internet, lack of sunlight and a photographer and my piece of junk computer were combining in such a manner so as to make it very easy to put off blogging to another day AND THEN MY COMPUTER CRASHED AND IT WAS ALL GONE. C'est la vie. Anyway, be assured that I really miss blogging and will post in a semi regular fashion from now on (yeah, right). On to the news:

I finished my Forecast!

I absolutely love it! I was nervous the entire time about the colour, the fit, the buttons - you name it, I was worried about it. But it seems that I had no cause to be worried because the colour is flattering, the fit is perfect, and the buttons...well, they are pretty and they keep my sweater closed and that's really all a girl can ask for.

Pattern: Glampyre's Forecast - Knitty Winter 2005
Yarn: Cascade 220 Tweed in colour 609
Modifications/notes: My forecast ended up looking very similar to Winnie's (which isn't surprising since I did the same modifications). First, I had to go up a needle size to get gauge, as usual. I started the ribbing on the sleeves just below the elbow and lengthened the ribbing on the body to avoid yet another cropped knit. I did a three stitch bobble instead of the five, and I'm glad I did, because they still stick out pretty far. That's about it. The pattern was well written and fun to knit, which was to be expected, since I've loved every Stephanie Japel pattern I've ever knit. I can't wait until her book comes out!
